30DMC - day 25

Today’s theme is COVID-19. This isn’t the first COVID-19 analysis I’ve done this year, but it is the first I’ve presented on a map.

Testing has quite clearly been an effective tool for controlling the spread of COVID-19, and the NSW Health department has got to be commended for standing up testing facilities quickly, as should the private providers doing their bit.

When I got a test back in August, we found our closest testing clinic was a pretty decent walk away, so I thought today we’d look at driving distances to the nearest COVID-19 testing clinic (based on sample points in Sydney):

The darker points surrounded completely by lighter regions exist because the sample point is in a tunnel or highway so may have to do a bit of a roundabout route to the nearest clinic.
